CastleWare: organic infant clothing – treasures for a new era (review & giveaway)

When I was pregnant with Camden, I did a mammoth sort of all the baby clothing I’d saved from Beckett.  It was a huge to-do and one of the biggest purges was all the polyester/polar-fleece stuff we had acquired.  These included every single one of the blanket sleepers that Beckett had lived in for the first six months of life.  I cleared the bins of anything that was soaked in flame-retardants or made of artificial materials.  And, then I began the hunt for a sleepsack made from a natural fabric and came across CastleWare.

CastleWare makes organic clothing for babies and small children.  The velour cozie is their bestseller and comes in a sleeveless and a long-sleeved version.  It will set you back a little over $50 depending on the style, but I swear it is worth every single cent.  The craftsmanship is remarkable and the design is perfection with a zipper than opens from the bottom up (think of a baby you don’t want to get cold for late night diaper changes).  The 100% organic cotton is heavy and thick without being stifling or unbreathable.  It’s just simply gorgeous.  If we are lucky enough that Camden doesn’t soak herself, it is an investment that we can dress her in two nights in a row.  It’s honestly the first thing we grab at night and is never in the dresser drawer long enough to stay folded.

In addition to the phenomenal quality and perfect design, CastleWare stands by their pure organic materials and proudly makes everything in the USA.  The sleeper is proving its durability as Camden hit her six-month birthday this weekend and it has been worn almost non-stop since birth.  It looks fresh, clean and as new as the day we received it.  The colors have a deep richness that is natural and sweetly sublime.

I have three friends who are due with babies in the next two months and I have been working to find just the right gift for them.  It needs to be something I can stand behind, can’t live without and will become a staple in their child’s wardrobe.  The sleepsack from CastleWare fits the bill perfectly and is going to be a gift that shows up time and time again.

The long-sleeve sleepsack is what we have and love, but CastleWare’s product offerings don’t stop there.  There is an entire line of baby clothing from pants, tops and other sleepwear along with accessories including receiving blankets, sheets, washcloths, hats and booties.  Three cheers for a beautiful company making absolutely stunning organic baby clothing and gear.  Hands down one of my best finds so far!

Here’s the photo session with Camden.  Good luck keeping the baby from crawling, scooting, moving away…

The toy was really the only tool I had to keep her somewhat still

The moment she realized the camera was focused on her and she could see her reflection in the lens...

And, the toy has now become officially more interesting than the photo shoot and momma's face

I know Spring has been too kind to us when my husband complained it was only going to be 60 tomorrow. Fan on Facebook as Tara Jewell-Mixons, and subscribe via email.

Spring spoiled us with 70 degree weather for a few weeks in March. Currently, the heat is on and snow flurries disappear as they hit the ground.

Oh, the allergies! Trying not to take anything (21 weeks today) even though I’ve heard Claritin is okay for the baby.

I simply adore Castleware. My son wears his sleep sack (sleeveless, over pajamas) up to 5 nights in a row (assuming no diaper leaks)! Springtime in the Northeast has been lovely; warm and sunny, and we’ve already enjoyed days at the beach! Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!
