Beckett is gorgeous. She is built like a gymnast with defined muscles, perfect proportions and a boundless energy. Camden is cute. She is plump with rolls upon rolls. She hides breastmilk in her neck, clothing lint in her cankles (yes, she has cankles) and diaper changes require a minimum two wipes as you clean the hidden crevices.
I love where Beckett is at and what she is doing and learning, but it is so nice to have that babyness back in the house. There is the smell, the weight, the sighs and the smiles. You can’t forget them. They are all baby.
Camden is growing like a weed and has jumped into the 90th percentile on both weight and height. She is in stretching out of 6-month clothing and is pushing the 15-ell-bees mark. We kept almost all of Beckett’s baby clothing, but some things just didn’t make it for a second round. Bibs and onesies were so worn and stained that they became rags, but most of her pajamas and adorable outfits made it for round two.
When Beckett was just a wee-one, I wasn’t an uber-eco-mama yet and my shift hadn’t focused onto organic clothing. But, we were gifted some beautiful and so very cute organic items from family and friends. Some of these, thankfully, stood the test of time and stuck around for Camden. One of these organic companies that is back in our nursery dresser is Under the Nile.
Under the Nile doesn’t just make organic baby and children’s clothing, they make it from 100% organic Egyptian cotton. You know Egyptian cotton right? It’s the unbelievably soft, almost unbearably smooth material for dreamy bed sheets and luxurious bathrobes. So, as if you baby’s skin isn’t soft enough to make your heart melt and your eyes grow teary, you can now dress her in a fabric that elicits a similar reaction.
One of the things I appreciate most about Under the Nile is the extensive selection of gender-neutral offerings. In a society that is seemingly driven to plan-buy-spend all the time, it’s wonderful to see so many choices that are ready for whatever you bring home. Their collection of babywear is ginormous. They carry everything from the basic baby gear like onesies, footie pajamas, hats and booties to an adorable selection of outfits fit for your little pharaoh.
The colors range from subtle mutes of white and pastel to vibrant pops like the vegetable assortment Camden has. There is also a huge assortment of eco-friendly toys, organic diaper inserts, bibs, wipes, burp cloths and nursing pads. And, the swaddle blankets are big – big enough to wrap up your growing bundle of joy and keep those arms and legs in tight. On top of all this, Under the Nile is affordable organic wear.
Under the Nile is an organic company that sets itself apart by offering baby and children’s clothing made from incredibly luxurious material. You are in for the treat of supple, soft and cuddly wear for baby and mommy and daddy to enjoy.
