mission complete

I have been in crazy nesting mode.  It’s a day to day maniacal organization that starts with a to do list of no less than a dozen items and ends with exhaustion and an enormous sense of accomplishment.  Bless my dear husband and toddler for being dragged through this and holding on.  One of the biggest things that we needed to knock off the list was the baby’s room.  We turned our third bedroom (what used to be the guest room) into the baby’s room.  But, the wrinkle was that we had guests staying with us through the end of August and the entire room was occupied by a queen size bed.  A guest-free house and some weekends finally spent at home have given us the boost (and time!) needed to get this special place ready for a very special arrival.

The room has beautiful green walls that were original to the guest room.  The color scheme involves chocolate brown, warm pink and a lovely plummy purple.  Everything (with the exception of two small items) is a hand-me-down from Beckett, a consignment store find or handmade.  The curtain valance is one of my favorite details – I love the way that it pulls everything together with a bold, colorful statement.  The room is warm and sweetly inviting.  I am ready to welcome this new little one into our home and our lives.

We’ll keep you posted on her arrival…
