ECOlunchboxes – Healthy for People & the Planet (Review & Giveaway)

The way that my work schedule lays out makes me a two half-lunch kind of person.  Beckett and I are out of the house by 6:50am which that means breakfast for me is usually before 6:30am.  Because of the way the school day is organized and the need for my office to be open and accessible for students – my designated lunch break doesn’t happen until 1:00pm.  Six and half hours is a long time to go without food.  So, I usually have a snack about 10:00am and then another snack during my lunch break.

When it comes to lunches, reusable is the only way to go for me.  A cloth lunch bag and dishwasher-safe silverware and dishware are the best combination.  My new favorite company for lunch and snacks on the go is ECOlunchboxes.  They have a complete line of lunchbags, lunchboxes, napkins and utensils.

The lunchboxes are stainless steel and completely plastic-free (yay!).  They resemble a bento box in the fact that certain designs have compartments that can be stored inside the larger lunchbox.  The lunchbags and napkins are 100% cotton and detailed with beautiful organic prints and vibrant colors.  I like that they bring a bit of pizzazz to the lunch doldrum.  The utensils are available in stainless steel or sustainably grown bamboo and are designed to be dual-purpose sporks.

Quality with a capital “Q” is one of the first things that you will notice when you see and touch any item in the ECOlunchboxes line.  The ECOlunchbags are handmade and the fabrics hand-dyed and printed by artisans in India.  The stainless steel lunchboxes are ergonomically designed and make the best use of a small container.  The 3-in-1 lunchbox is only 4 inches wide, 5 1/2 inches long and 2 3/4 inches high, but has plenty of room for a sandwich, carrot sticks, hummus dip and a green salad.  The lunchbox’s design makes the most of my cupboard space, too.

ECOlunchboxes has come up with a line of products that are plastic-free and extremely attractive.  Their versatility works from adult lunches to toddler snack time and are perfect for on-the-go or a sit down picnic in the park.  Three cheers for ECOlunchboxes!

Here's what I'm packing: Carrots & Red Pepper Hummus!

I wouldn’t use it for soup or something that liquidy (ECOlunchboxes advises the same thing), but I used it for yogurt and it worked totally fine. 🙂
